While everyone was fast asleep on Sunday morning, I was pounding the pavement for my longest run yet -- 14 miles! This was the first long run I completed without my group. It was tough at times to keep going but I listened to a lot of Britney Spears and Miley Cyrus on my iPod so they got me through it (thanks, gals).
I am officially at the half way mark of my 20-week training program for the Sydney Marathon. In two short months, I will line up with thousands of people who are just as insane as me and run for 26.2 miles.
Fun fact: Less than 1% of the world's population has completed a marathon.
The best part is that I've already raised $1,155 for Cure Cancer Australia. Never in my wildest dreams did I think I'd raise this money so quickly and now I'm dying to make the $2,000 total! If you haven't sponsored me yet and are looking to send a few tax deductible bucks to cancer research and support me in my marathon, I'd be hells bells grateful! Just think, that money is off to the tax man anyway so you may as well send it somewhere useful.
Mom and Dad, I expect you to forward this on to your friends and beg for sponsorship for your only daughter and favorite child. To my brothers, let me threaten you by saying if you don't pass this along, I'll make sure to tell mom and dad all of the terrible things you got away with as a kid and if I can't think of anything they don't already know about, I'll make up something really good. My dear, sweet friends, surely you can all spare a few bucks to help me out.
To donate go to http://www.cantoo.org.au/ and click "sponsor now" on the top, right-hand corner.
I know you're all looking forward to a time when my ceaseless begging comes to an end. Don't worry -- that time is near. Hang in there! To everyone who has already donated, thank you from the bottom of my heart. Your support is greatly appreciated.

Catching up
Ok, I realize it's been almost two weeks since I've posted anything. I sure everyone has been checking for updates incessantly and has their panties in a knot at this point. I appreciate the concern. Anyway, everything is great in my neck of the woods. I'll catch you up on the highlights.
The house sold last week which was reason to have several champagne toasting sessions. The best part is that the house doesn't have to be immaculate for viewings anymore which is tough to do with two little ones running around. We move out of the house in a month! We'll be renting a house for another month until the Bowral house is finished.
Erin and Mike Thompson booked flights to come visit me. From Aug 13-27, I'll be gallivanting around with two of my best friends. I seriously can't wait! I plan to get them very drunk and show them what pashing and dashing is all about. I'm thinking they'll welcome it with open arms. We are still working out plans but we're hoping to do a bit of traveling as well.
For the name sake of my blog, I decided to read The Nanny Diaries. I just finished it and thought it was really cute! It's about a nanny living in NYC who is worked to death by rich, snobby parents and she is somehow keeping a secret that the dad is cheating on the mom. It was cute. Unfortunately, because I took reporting at UF (the class that takes over your life), I obsessively pick out grammatical errors when reading books, magazines or any other publications. Let me just say I could have covered the pages with red marks. Thanks, Foley.
The boys are as cute as ever. Josh learned how to play peek-a-boo. He covers his eyes with his hands and after about five seconds, he throws his hands in the air and I yell, "PEEK-A-BOO!" He loves it! He is also standing by himself for about 10-15 seconds at a time. James is very into The Wiggles right now. We watch the same episode almost everyday and dance around the living room.
I think that's all the news I have to share for now. Hope everyone had a great 4th of July!
xoxo
